March is just bubbling over with opportunities for growing and serving at First Baptist Lovejoy. We begin the first Sunday with a Gideon speaker and a season of prayer for North American Missions. All during this month and through Easter Sunday we will be collecting a special offering for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to support North American Missions. Please begin praying about what God would have you give to support mission work in Canada and the United States. Although there are many churches in our area, there are places in the United States and Canada where there are very few evangelical churches. Many missionaries, like Associational Missionary Bobby Gilstrap, labor to start new churches in parts of our nation where churches are desperately needed. When you give over and above your tithe to help missionaries like Bobby, needed funds are available for construction of new churches, training mission pastors, printing and distributing Christian literature, and planning outreach activities in church start communities. Prayerfully consider what the Lord would have your family give to this special offering this month.
March 12-18 is youth week in our church. Many of our middle school and high school students will be leading in Bible study and worship. Please support them and keep them in your prayers. On the weekend of March 17-19 NASCAR will be coming to town. Our church will be partnering with First Baptist Church of Hampton in raceway ministries. The schedule includes tent setup on Friday afternoon, children’s ministries on Saturday, and worship services in two tents at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday morning. We will have our morning worship services on Saturday rather than Sunday that weekend. You should have a much easier time getting to and from church on Saturday of race weekend than on Sunday.
